With all the Cruisers coming, rooms on the Coast are booking up.
News 25 spoke with Coastal Mississippi Executive Director Judy Young and she jokingly said if you have friends or family you don’t want to stay with you, there’s still time to secure a booking.
Although Young stressed with the expected turnout for this year, you will want to do so quickly.
The popular event draws in a large crowd and when comparing Cruisers to other vacationers, they tend to make the most of their time on the Coast. Young said, “Most people on vacation stay about two-and-a-half to three-and-a-half days. They stay on average of six days in our community. So, they get to soak up the Southern hospitality they’ve rated as excellent and 90 percent plan to return.”
Last year’s event had a $33 million economic impact on our area with each non-local Cruiser spending about $450 per day.
