Acknowledging that manufacturers generally don’t like to ask for help, Schwartz said that IMEC has been an incredible partner, helping Trim-Tex to access a variety of resources. For example, IMEC conducted an employee engagement survey to cultivate an open, positive work environment. A workforce training program was then developed to focus on educating managers to effectively supervise and lead their teams. Employees engaged in skills training to relieve the managers from certain duties. “We learned what we don’t know, and what we have to know,” Schwartz said.
Sharing and learning from one another’s experiences is what makes a partnership with IMEC so valuable. Another top priority in manufacturing is attracting and retaining workers, which also makes an IMEC partnership even more powerful.
