KENT – Fife ‘n Drum Restaurant has served several generations of families over the course of the half century it has been in business. The late Dolph Traymon, a professional musician, opened the restaurant on Jan. 20, 1973. Traymon’s daughter Elissa Potts has since taken over the restaurant, which offers live music several times a week.
The Fife ‘n Drum Restaurant is hosting an open house for its 50th anniversary on Jan. 19 from 3 to 7 p.m.
Given how the restaurant’s “grown over the course of time,” Potts said it’s interesting to reflect on its 50 years in business, between the customers that came to the restaurant at the very beginning to the original customers’ families and grandchildren who visit the restaurant today.
“It’s really heartwarming to know the number of people who we’ve taken care of over the years,” she said.
