The Medford Fire Department is asking people to avoid the area of North Pacific Highway, near Elm Avenue, after a fire broke out at the Imports Parts Center.
Multiple crews are working the blaze, which sent thick black smoke into the air in an area near an intersection with numerous businesses. Witnesses captured photos of the fire, with flames visible, on social media channels.
The Medford Fire Department reported in a Facebook post of its own that the structure fire would temporarily close North Pacific Highway between Hazel Street and Elm Avenue.
The department promised to provide more updates as they become available
