ONEIDA — Cornell’s Greenhaus opened during the worst possible time for a business; however, it not only weathered the pandemic, but has found a place in the community with plans for the future.
Jacob Cornell, co-owner of Cornell’s Greenhaus, 264 Genesee St., opened the shop in 2020 with his father and grandfather, Jesse Cornell I and Jesse Cornell II, at Glenwood Plaza. Working alongside him is his uncle TJ Newsom and his wife, Hannah.
“We opened in September in 2020 and moved to Route 5 in July [of the same year],” Cornell said. “Business was rough at first. I worked from September to December without a day off when we first started. But we grew because we believe this market deserves legitimacy, and we see a void and want to fill it.”
