A new business has announced plans to expand into Emporia.

Kansas Governor Laura Kelly says Communications Solutions, LLC, will create 250 jobs. Kelly says Communications Solutions provides business-to-business and business-to-consumer call center services. It will buy a facility to create a new call center as it handles growing customer demand and it has started the hiring process.

Emporia was chosen in part due to an agreement with Evergy, which is providing electricity to the company at the former Fusion Connect building, 1301 Chestnut. The announcement from Communications Solutions comes less than a month after Fusion announced it was selling the property.
